semi-permanent hiatus

well, having not blogged for a long time, i have decided to put this whole blog thing on a semi-permanent hiatus. that means that if i ever get back into the habit, then i will blog again. if not, then this will probably just become a ghost of the internet.

however, i do not want to leave you with a 'nothing' last (maybe) post. so i have persused my blog's archives and come up with some of the more interesting posts for you to yourselves peruse.
there's also a numer of (what i like to think are) humourous post titles that i've managed to come up with over the years, including but not limited to:
  • M is for milkshake. R is for Rambo
  • ouch, my knee...
  • is pretty average better than normal average?
  • bored -> über-cool in three easy steps
  • everyone's a winner...especially those who win
  • this title is longer than the actual post. weird...
  • why are you wearing a red t-shirt?
  • psychoanalytic therapy. check.
  • how many movies feature singing mountain goats...honestly?
  • from non-newtonian fluids to webcomics via Wikipedia
  • Pathfinder: where's the path? oh, here it is
  • dangerous = fun
  • ultasounds don't alleviate boredom
on the Pathfinder note, i think my review is apt: i could probably draw a lot of parallels to Apocalypto, with the 'one guy who fights a lot of people while running away from his pursuers who slaughtered his entire village and he gets wounded but not fatally and in the end he ends up killing them all and hooking up with the hot native chick who bears him children' plot line, but i'm not going to...besides, Apocalypto didn't have Vikings.

on the Apocalypto note, i think my review is apt: there were a lot of scenes with running. guys running, guys running away from people, guys running after people, guys taking a break from running then turning around and seeing more people running so starting to run again. you get the idea. there was also some pretty cool action and a love story, if you can imagine that.

i didn't look through the entire archive, so i'm sure there's some gems in there i missed...have a look for yourself and i'm sure you'll be plesently surprised and find something that quite amuses you.

peace out,

adam

what is love?

yesterday i went over to the Hutt for an Aspiring Leaders reunion. it was for the south of the North Island, and we had 4 people from Wgtn, and 4 from the north of the the North Island. haha. it was cool though. got to hang out and spend time and chat with some of the people who went to the Forum in May.

Lloyd Martin came and talked with us, then we went out for lunch and played some games. spent a lot of the day chatting with each other about our lives. we went into Wgtn to the Wine Loft later and hung out some more. i came back into the Hutt and went to Kellie's birthday/house warming. ended up playing Catan with a group of people. it was fun.

today, after church i met up with Aimee for coffee, which was cool. we hung out and chatted and then went and saw 'The Love Guru'. it was funny. it's classic Mike Myers, so if you like him, you'll like this movie.

came home and spent the rest of the day playing Diablo II and watching TV. tomorrow, it's back to Team X, then on Tuesday, it's back to Praxis...

Get Smart

went into Wgtn today with Jen and we met up with Mum for lunch. it was cool. i went looking for DVDs later and didn't buy anything. it was a good way to kill time though. met up with Jo later and we went to BK, then we saw 'Get Smart'. it's pretty funny.

caught the train home, and luckily, Jen caught the same train, so i was able to grab a lift with her from the station and didn't have to walk home in the rain :)

my morning runs longer...

today was a pretty cruisy day. played Diablo II all morning (and by morning, i mean until lunchtime...by which i mean 3:00) and watched DVD special features all afternoon/evening.

that's something that i've been meaning to do for a while. i've had a stack of DVDs on my desk in my 'to watch' pile, so today, i did. now i can add them to the rack where they belong :)

blogging hiatus over...?

well, it's been a while. the first part of my blogging hiatus was brought on by having too much else on in my life, and the second part was brought on by me being lazy and not being bothered to post...

we'll have to wait and see if that part's over now :)

so, over the last three weeks, we wrapped up Team X for the term with a couple of busy weeks that included two Whanau Evenings and a movie fundraiser.

last week i was at a camp at El Rancho, doing my semi-leader, semi-staff role. it was cool. Aimee was there for a couple of days, and the female version of me was a chick called Shani who was pretty cool. it was Bex's last camp, so by the end of the week, there were lots of tears.

this week, i've been just chilling out. had a couple of days in the Team X office with Whetu and Katie. we have sorted out a few things about next term, and hopefully it'll be a good term to build up the team dynamic.

apart from that, i've been playing computer games...and cleaning my room. i might do more of that tomorrow...

[beep]

i'm in a mood of not blogging. this week is busy and i can't be bothered tight now. when my life is back on track and i'm less having these things that are called emotions, i shall try and resume normality.

whatever that looks like.

please leave a message after the beep and i'll get back to you.

slow process

i have now finished question two of my Praxis assignment. it's a slow process, but i'm getting there. i think i need to really just sit down and write a lot tomorrow. i'll try and finish at least one whole assignment, if not two. i don't know how well i'll do...

i should stop playing Deus Ex.

You Don't Mess With The Zohan

went to Adventure School and ran our Peer Pressure programme today. it was cool. hopefully, the kids who needed to hear about it got something out of it. after the programme, we went to their fundraiser. the classes we teach are raising money to go on a school trip, so they had a bunch of stalls set up in the hall, and all the other classes got to come and spend money. there was baking, lollies, crafts, pre-loved toys and books, face painting, nail painting and a couple of others. i ended up helping at the 'pay 20c and guess the number of jellybeans in the jar and win them all if you guess right' table.

it was really fun. and i nearly won the jellybeans! i was only 17 off with one of my guesses!

went out and saw 'You Don't Mess With The Zohan' tonight. it was pretty funny. if you like Adam Sandler movies, then you'll like this one.
