back from Taupo
Thursday:
went to work. everyone hassled me for only coming in for one day, then taking a day off to go to Taupo. picked up Katie after work, and drove north. had McD’s for dinner in Levin, and got to the house we were staying at (about 30km south of Taupo). it was pretty sweet. we mucked around and waited for the others to arrive. they did, sometime after 11:00. we spent the night sitting around and talking…’til about 3:30am, then i went to bed. Katie and Mell were sleeping in the same room as me, and decided to stay up talking for another hour or so. i think i fell asleep sometime between the conversation about Richard and the one about Kellee.
Friday:
slept in. it was good. mucked around all morning, then headed into Taupo. went to Huka falls. i’ve been there nearly every time i’ve been to Taupo, and it’s starting to lose its appeal. its still pretty loud though…bought lunch and had a picnic by the lake, then went back to the house. i went to bed and slept for 2hrs and everyone else did other stuff. by the time i got up, a surprise B’day party for Graeme had been planned, so i went along with it. we cruised down to the river and had fish’n'chips for dinner. it was cool. Alisha arrived from Palmie, and we lit a bonfire and sat around talking. got back to the house later and sat around talking again. more fun times, but only ’til 1:30am tonight.
Saturday:
slept in again. played Monopoly with Mell and Graeme. Mell won by a lot. we cleaned up the house and went into Taupo for lunch. everyone said their goodbyes and headed off in different directions. Katie cruised back to Bulls with Alisha, so i picked up 3 hitch-hikers at Turangi to fill up the extra space in my car. they were from The Czech Republic. dropped them off in Bulls and picked up Katie. dropped her home then came home.
that’s it.
i checked my e-mail, and amidst the 80 or so spam e-mails was one from Reading Cinemas telling me i won their Flight Plan competition. i don’t even remember entering, or what was in the prize pack…i guess i’ll find out soon enough!
and now i must get reading for Poker Night!
