Connexions ‘06

Friday:

went up to Forest Lakes Camp on Friday for the CFUH Connexion Camp ‘06. it was an awesome weekend. once all the kids arrived, we split up into our house colours. i was in Red House. we spent the evening coming up with some chants, making a banner and having a whole lot of fun. we all got back together and each house showed off their banner and chants. after that, we had an awesome band play some songs and we moshed the night away.

Saturday:

it was a pretty standard camp morning - breakfast, meeting, speaker, morning tea, cabin time, lunch. after lunch it got really fun. we had the House Competition. we split up into teams and played games against the other houses. most of the games involved water, so everyone got soaked. the game that didn’t involve getting wet involved frisbees and fridge boxes. everyone had a blast!

after that, we had free time, and there were a bunch of activities planned. i went biscuiting (being dragged behind a jet boat on a large inflatable pad). it was awesome! i did bite my lip pretty badly as Troy’s elbow hit my jaw when we went over some wake, but it only bled for an hour or so. played frisbee later. that was fun.

the theme for dinner was Pirates of the Caribbean, so everyone got dressed up as pirates. it was great fun.

after dinner, we had another speaker and some awesome worship time.

Sunday:

had breakfast, then cabin time. then we had the Witz Blitz, which was a cool quiz show type thing. we listened to a couple of people speak, then began the dreaded clean up. we weren’t allowed to get lunch until our cabins were spotless. the boys cabins were all done in no time, but the girls cabins took forever. luckily, i’m a boy, so i got to eat lunch :o)

we cleaned up the camp after lunch, then parents started arriving to pick up their kids. we showed them a video of some of the stuff we’d done during camp. it was pretty funny. the points for all the houses were read out and Red House came 2nd. Green took it out for the weekend. left camp at about 4:00 and managed to drive home without falling asleep, which was nice.

i’m back and i’m tired

i’m very tired, so i’m going to go and continue sleeping (i woke up from my afternoon sleep to watch a new episode of CSI). i’ll let you know how the camp was tomorrow.
