the Coromandel: there and back again
the trouble with the Coromandel is that it’s about 9hrs drive away. so i drove for about 9hrs. in that time i picked up Katie and Alisha, played in the snow on the Desert Road, stopped in Rotorua to try and convince Graeme to come along, failed to convince Graeme to come along, drove through Tauranga, and met Mell at Whangamata. Laz didn’t come either, so it was just me and the girls. cruised out to Mell’s bach in Opoutere after dinner and talked all night. i was pretty shattered from driving, so i went to bed earlyish.

Monday:
had a pretty cruisy day today. explored Whangamata (i.e. the 3 girls went shopping and i followed along). hung out on the beach for a while. spent the night doing puzzles and playing games. stayed up late into the night chatting.

Tuesday:
explored more of the Coromandel today. drove around places like Pauanui and Tairua where all the rich Aucklanders have flash holiday houses and personal jetties and luxury yachts. we went night-fishing later. Mell and Alisha went out in the dinghy, and me and Katie stayed on the jetty. i caught a fish :o) spent the night playing games and staying up late again.

Wednesday:
we left Opoutere this morning. the trouble with the Coromandel is that it’s about 9hrs drive away. so i drove for about 9hrs. again. dropped Alisha and Katie home, then got home and went to bed.

i spent pretty much all of today watching TV - catching up on things i taped while i was away. sorry, but i have no photos of that…
