tyred out

ran the Decision Making programme with Frequency this morning. it was fun doing the WWHR drama. came home and watched a few Voyager episodes. the dumb thing about my room is that once the sun reaches a certain point in the sky, i can’t play computer games due to screen glare and rays of light. once the sun had done its thing, i played Sin for a while, then i played Emergence. took a few screenshots, but they’re not all that great. i’ll get some better ones later.

besides, a single screenshot doesn’t do justice to the sweet water and particle effects in the game.

had to change a tyre on Mum’s car tonight. not because it was flat, but because it looked like this:

this would’ve caused a fantastic blowout!

the wrong shape for a tyre…

spent the rest of the night watching TV.

Hoodwinked…it’s worth the money

had a lot of plans today, but one by one they got cancelled or changed because of weather or other people doing other things. eventually, Si came round and we went round to Jon’s, whence (it’s a real word…) we departed for the glowing haze that is Lower Hutt. we went to the new movie theatre at Queensgate. it’s pretty flash. it’s very American. for those of you who have never been to an American movie theatre, go to Queensgate. it’s a pretty good replica.

we saw a $5 movie - ‘Hoodwinked’. it was awesome. i’m starting to become a fan of Jon’s theory that animated kids’ movies are always way better than any live-action stuff, judging by the fact that Hoodwinked was way better than Miami Vice. it’s a great twist on the classic Little Red Riding Hood story, with multiple story lines that merge together in the end and leave you saying “ahh! it all makes sense!” it’s a great technique that, if used well, results in awesome movies.

went to Denny’s for dinner later. we played poker (Texas Hold ‘em) and used sugar sachets for chips (the betting kind…not the eating kind). it was fun. i won in the end.

Miami Vice…don’t waste your money

work today was average. not boring, but not exciting either. i guess average gets pretty boring after a while though…

went into Wgtn and met up with Jon and Si. we played some pool, then went and saw ‘Miami Vice’. it wasn’t great. i thought that with all the hype, and the previews, and the actors that it’d be awesome. but it wasn’t. as far as “buddy cop movies that are set in Miami and Cuba and are about drugs and going undercover and then the cops break the rules and there are subplots that revolve around white supremacy” go, i’ve actually seen better.

meh…

netball = A&E

went to North St. again today. it was fun. played 4-Square with Jono and a bunch of kids. i think they call it something different these days, and their rules are messed up. as soon as i made it to King, i reverted all the rules back to the rules i played when i was Form 2. then it was fun :o)

we taught Self Worth to rooms 1 and 2. it was fun. came back to the office and packed down. played netball with the team later. didn’t sprain my ankle! but Jono’s face started swelling up (presumably as a result of some kinda food allergy…?) so we had to go to A&E anyway.

so the last 2 times i’ve played netball, someone’s ended up at A&E…what’s going to happen next time?!?

relationships…

went to Team X today. we went to St. Peter’s and taught the kids about relationships. some of them seemed interested in what we had to say, and others just seemed more interested in our lollies. that’s always the case though. hopefully they’ll all get something out of it.

came back to the office and practiced for tomorrow. pretty standard stuff.

went out to Reuben and Aimee’s for dinner and to catch up. it was fun. i know them through my ex-girlfriend. we watched Spy Game. it’s an interesting movie.

came back to Jono’s and stayed up chatting with Katie.

the TXHV comeback tour

work today was really boring. all i did was cut and strip and solder wires. my mind alternated between wandering and switching off.

had a meeting with Whetu after work and we talked about what’s happeing next year regarding Team Xtreme Hutt Valley. he’s got a bunch of ideas and it’d be awesome if we could implement them all. it looks like there will definitely be a team in Upper Hutt again next year, and if things go as Whetu has them planned, team members will be getting a decent salary. sweetness!

went to home group tonight. it was alright. talked about our role as Christians in looking after our environment. drove up to Palmie afterwards. got here at 11:30ish. hooray for energy drinks!

imagine my surprise…

…when i got home from work today and checked my computer, there were the words “100% - Ready” beside Sin: Emergence! sweetness! also, my bandwidth has been drained for the next month :oD

played it for a couple of hours. it’s awesome! i’m not sure how big a fan i am of running games through Steam though…hopefully, if i upgrade my comp at some stage, i’ll be able to find the game files i’ve d’loaded with Steam and be able to copy them, rather than having to d’load games all over again…

it’d be really nice to have an entire game, as opposed to a few levels, but i can deal. the graphics are awesome! i’ll post some screenshots at some stage maybe…

hooray for unthrottled d’load speeds!

i’m back to my unthrottled d’load speed! which means that Emergence will be arriving way sooner!

9% today means that i can have Emergence within 2 weeks…maybe

i left my computer d’loading last night. it means my sleep was interrupted by the hum of my computer, but it was worth it. it was worth each and every of the 3% i d’loaded…i wish the day that my 2MB/s d’load speed resumes would hurry up and get here…stupid 1GB cap.

Katie was down for the weekend, so she helped me and Ludie with Frequency this morning. we ran the Team Building programme. it went alright.

came home and alternated between watching TV and playing Sin (the original) which i installed. it’s cool. i hope that Sin: Emergence is cool too. it should be, from what i’ve heard. knowing the computer game industry like i do, in a few years, there’ll be a multi-episode release with all the Sin episodes released in one handy package with special bonuses exclusive to said package and some strategy guides. but i can’t be arsed waiting for a couple of years.

Emergence update: currently d’loaded: 9% @ ~11KB/s

i won’t be leaving my comp on tonight though…i need sleep.
