slept in and did a whole lot more nothing. sweetness! Matt came round and we watched Austin Powers: Goldmember and played SimCity4. it’s Matt’s new fave game.

played Diablo II online with Jo for a while. now i have two online buddies. w00t.

Jon came round with pizza for tea, then Si, Su and Su’s sister came round. we went into Wgtn and missed out on the 7:45 showing of Transformers by this much: |___|

played pool instead. i won 2/4 games, which shocked and awed Jon and Si…who only won one each.

then we saw “Transformers”. now, i’ve been excited about seeing movies before. i’ve been excited by bits of movies that i’ve seen in trailers. but i haven’t been this excited while watching a movie for i don’t know how long…if ever.

FREAKING COOLEST MOVIE EVER!!!

the last time i was this excited about something was when StarCraft II was announced. and that was eight years of pent-up waiting.

i don’t know how well the movie is going to do at theatres, ‘cos it’s directed by Michael Bay, who a lot of reviewers don’t like ‘cos he makes “mindless action flicks” (Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon, The Island). well, DUH!!! get over your arthouse freakin’ foreign film watching selves and review it for what it is. it is an action flick. pure and simple. i doubt it will win Best Picture at the Academy Awards. so don’t compare it to such movies. compare it to other action flicks! leave Michael Bay alone!

ooh…and check out the Transformers website. it’s pretty styley

ran the last of our Dreams programmes today. we only had tears in 2/3 classes, so that’s good. and no they weren’t mine…

it’s usually a sign of a good (or a God) programme when we all come back to the office completely shattered, which is what we did. we debriefed the term, then we all left.

came home and did a whole lot of nothing for the first time in a while. the plan was to play Diablo II with Carl, but his computer was having issues.

tomorrow i’m sleeping in and doing a whole lot more nothing! excellent! then i’m going to go and see Transformers. excellenter!

went into the Team X office today. did some work on the next issue of our newsletter, wrote some certificates, printed out all our assessment stuff, did some more general blah.

went to Maidstone with Whetu later to meet some of the teachers and give them their class assessments.

then we went back to Maidstone ‘cos we found out that we were talking to the kids in a syndicate assembly. we’re teaching them next term, so we told them a bit about what we’re going to do. now 120 more kids know my name and i have no idea who they are…

then we had a meeting with the teachers whose classes we’re teaching next term and gave them a brief overview of what it is we’re going to be doing and what we require from them.

busy day…but it doesn’t stop there. planned the first couple of weeks of next term when we got back to the office. our two-week whiteboard spread is now filled up. Term 3 is going to be a busy term. we’re going to be in nine classes in two schools over three days teaching 270 or so kids! holy crap! that’s about 121 hours at schools (including lunchtimes and all that jazz).

came home and had to write on 18 more certificates for my kids tomorrow.

well, i slept in, i procrastinated, and i finished my last two Praxis assignments. yay! i wasn’t too happy with my answer for one question, but that’s only ‘cos i didn’t understand it or how to answer it, so i had to make it up. hopefully the rest of the assignment will make up for it and i’ll still get a decent mark.

treated myself to some M&Ms as a reward. now i’ve eaten far too many M&Ms.

played old school games for the rest of the day. a bit of Syndicate, then i switched to Monkey Island and played that through to completion.

Jo came round tonight and dropped off a CD. we hung out and watched TV for a while.

I just looked at my watch and realised that it’s getting late and i have to get up in the morning…bedtime it is.

it’s the last week of Team X for Term 2. we ran our Dreams programme with our three classes today. it’s a little weird thinking that i’m not going to be teaching these kids anymore…but i will be teaching many more in the weeks to come. plus, we’re still going to be at Maidstone next term, so i can see all my Term 2 kids in Term 3.

plus, we’re going to be in Maidstone next year, so i can see all my Year 7 kids when they’re Year 8’s. that’ll be weird.

played Catan back at the office.

went to WIT tonight. there were more new people than regulars. it was a little weird. but it was fun too.

now i have to mentally prepare myself for tomorrow when i must knuckle down and finish my Praxis assignments. i can do it, it’s just a matter of getting stuck into it and not procrastinating…watch me now. here i go! but not until tomorrow! and i’m also going to sleep in some! but then i will do my assignments!

it’s the last week of Team X for the term. Andy was down today. somehow we managed to fill in enough time to take up a whole day…days like this confuse me. i know i did work, but i’m not sure what it was. oh well. that’s like getting paid for free! bonus!

came home and finished writing certificates for my small group kids for our classes tomorrow. i also did a bit more on my Praxis assignment. finished up a question that i hadn’t quite finished. noe i only have one question that i know nothing about and one assignment that i have to make stuff up for to go.

i am back. don’t know for how long…at least a week. then i have to go away. how ’bout i take small steps and just blog for a week…

last night was pretty cool. i watched TV, played pool and watched a DVD. then went to bed. and i’m getting paid for it. sweetness!

got home today and wrote up my Counselling case study! w00t. also wrote another 700 words for my Reflective Practitioner workbook. that puts it to over 3,000 words, and it’ll probably be over 4,000 by the time i’m finished. i may procrastinate, but i can write the crap out of an assignment.

i doubt i’ll get any more done tonight…but i don’t have three of them hanging over my head anymore. i can see the light at the end of the tunnel…

tonight i shall use for playing games.

just as i get my blogging act back together, my internet breaks…

…but now it is fixed, thanks to some help from some out-sourced call center tech, possibly in India…

…but now i am going out for the night and won’t be back ’til tomorrow…

• i’ve played mini golf twice. i won one game and came second-ish in the other.
• my sister had her 21st party. we were entertained by The Real Hot Bitches Dance Troupe. an interesting experience when you’re surrounded by your grandparents…
• i’ve done a lot of Team X stuff. we’ve run 3 programmes and a Whanau Evening in the last couple of weeks. it’s been pretty full on. Jamie, whom i met at El Rancho, came and hung out with us for our Whanau Evening. she’s pretty keen to join team, so that’d be awesome!

so there you have it. nearly two weeks, summed up nicely and hopefully not boringly. there’s even some pictures for you to look at in case the words all got a bit too much.

it wasn’t quite as massively-über-mega-ultra-stupidly boring as i’d thought it’d be, but that works out better for everyone i guess…

alas, my dear friends, i have no time to post. and yes…i am aware of the irony that i am posting to tell you that i have no time to post. i don’t even have enough time to catch up on the sleep i need to.

and tomorrow will be über-busy, so i won’t be able to post then either…

…so on Wednesday (hopefully) i’ll do some kinda massively-über-mega-ultra-stupidly boring update post, with pics and info and everything! and then you can read it and say “ahh…that’s what Adam did two weeks ago.”
