i’ll give *you* a book of secrets…

tidied my room today. i can see my floor. all of it! albeit, a lot of stuff is still on my bed and my desk. that’s phase two, which i’ll do later…but i picked everything up off my floor, threw out a lot of things, and vacuumed up a lot of dust. i also took my sister’s car for a WOF and cleaned the kitchen.

…and i didn’t watch any DVDs!

but i did watch a movie. went and saw National Treasure: Book of Secrets with Carl and Trevor. i don’t think it was as risky as the first…sure, they broke into Buckingham Palace and the White House and kidnapped the preseident, but it was all too easy. there was no planning, and i don’t think the clues were as clever or the story as intriguing…but i’m not an American historian…oh, and there was that whole annoying page 47 thing.

…it was still a good movie.

tomorrow, i’m driving up to Waihi, on somewhat of a whim, to spend New Year’s with my sisters’ flatmates. there’s reason to my randomness, and her name is Kate. she asked me if i wanted to come up, and i said yes. at least i won’t be spending New Year’s by myself [2oo5] or in hospital (hopefully) [2oo6]. it should be fun. an experience. spending time with random’s is a bit outside my comfort zone, so i’m just going to see how it plays out. i’ll let you know :o)

i doubt that there’s internet where i’m going, so have a great New Year’s, and i’ll see you all again in 2oo8!

if you’re really bored, i suggest reading through my archives to see what happened to me this year. or last year, or two years ago…there’s some really cool stuff in there! you just have to find it…

nothing special today

spent the day at home watching DVDs. watched Bandidas, Gone in 60 Seconds and Chaos. they’re all pretty cool. i hadn’t seen Bandidas or Chaos before. Bandidas is good for a laugh and Chaos is good for an action movie.

that’s about it, really…

…nothing special today.

***Advice for girls***

***Advice for girls, from a guy’s point of view***

We don’t care if you talk to other guys

We don’t care if you’re friends with other guys

But when you’re sitting next to us, and some random guy walks into the room and you jump up and tackle him without even introducing us…yeah, it pisses us off

It doesn’t help if you sit there and talk to him for ten minutes without even acknowledging the fact that we’re still there

We don’t care if a guy calls you, but at 2am in the morning we do get a little concerned

Nothing is that important at 2am that it can’t wait until the morning

When we tell you that you’re pretty/beautiful/gorgeous/cute/stunning, we freaking mean it

Don’t tell us we’re wrong. We’ll stop trying to convince you

The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence

Don’t be mad when we hold the door open

Take advantage of the mood we’re in

Let us pay for you. We don’t “feel bad”

We enjoy doing it

It’s expected

Smile and say ‘thank you’

Kiss us when no one’s watching

If you kiss us when you know somebody’s looking, we’ll be more impressed

You don’t have to get dressed up for us

If we’re going out with you in the first place, you don’t have to feel the need to wear the shortest skirt you have, or put on every kind of makeup you own

We like you for WHO you are and not WHAT you are

Honestly, we think you look beautiful in your PJ’s, or wearing one of our t-shirts

Don’t take everything we say seriously

Sarcasm is a beautiful thing. See the beauty in it

Don’t get angry easily

Stop using magazines/media as your bible

Don’t talk about how hot Patrick Dempsey, Brad Pitt, or Johnny Depp is in front of us. It’s boring, and we don’t care. You have girlfriends for that

Whatever happened to the word ‘handsome’?

We’d be utterly stunned by a girl who greeted us with ‘Hey handsome’ instead of ‘Hey baby/stud/cutie/sexy’ or whatever else you can think of

If you want to hold our hand, gently bump into it a couple of times

When you want to cuddle with us, tell us that you’re cold

During a movie, if we put our arm around you, tilt your head on our shoulder

When we’re both laying under the stars, put your head on our chest and close your eyes as you listen to our steady heart beat

We cannot stress this enough: IF YOU AREN’T BEING TREATED RIGHT BY A GUY, DON’T WAIT FOR HIM TO CHANGE. DITCH HIS SORRY DISGRACE-TO-THE-MALE-POPULATION ASS, AND FIND SOMEONE WHO WILL TREAT YOU WITH UTTER RESPECT

Someone who will honour your morals

Someone who will make you smile when you’re at your lowest

Someone who will care for you even when you make mistakes

Someone who will love you, no matter how bad you make them feel

Someone who will stop what they’re doing just to look you in the eyes, say ‘I love you’ and actually mean it

***Give the nice guys a chance***

more and more DVDs!

it’s Boxing Day. the Boxing Day or “Summer” sales started today. i went DVD shopping. bought the following:

Bandidas
Batman Begins
Blade Runner
Chaos
Crank
Gone in 60 Seconds
Mr. & Mrs. Smith

the two latter DVDs were better editions, bought to replace copies i already own (see this rant for more info).

i’ve now gone over the 200 mark for movies i own on DVD. not bad for a seven-year collection.

came home and played Scrabble with Mum and Grandma. i won by about 100 points.

Katie came round this afternoon and we chatted for a while about next year and what might be happening in both our lives. there’s still a lot of things up in the air and no one has answers or is giving answers…it makes life very frustrating sometimes.

went online and ordered even more DVDs. that’s the trouble with websites offering DVDs from as low as $4.50! watched Batman Begins and most of the special features tonight. it’s a great movie. i can’t wait for The Dark Knight to be released. June i think.

on a downside for the day, my headphones are broken and the right speaker doesn’t work…i think that when me and Dad rough’n'tumble, i should take my headphones off.

meh…

Christmas Day #2

got up pretty late this morning. turns out, everyone else did too. we had another nice breakfast, then chilled out for the morning. eventually, everyone was ready and the dishes were finished, so we opened presents. i’m now a lot richer then i was when i woke up. i also have the Encyclopedia of Immaturity that i’m sure will be fantastic reading :o) and i got some presents that will be surreptitiously re-wrapped and given to other people, or just donated to a 2nd-hand store…

there’s always presents like that…

after a lunch which no one really ate, we played Catan. it was cool. i played WoW later. played my hunter character and tried to tame a new pet to score a new ability, but it doesn’t seem to be working…hmm…

we had some people from my parents’ church over for dinner. they’re pretty cool. we sat around chatting. after they left, we played another game of Catan. it didn’t really have the energy of the first game, but you always get games like that…

Christmas Eve Day & Night

took Grandma to see ‘Bee Movie’ this morning. it was pretty cool. we saw it at the Lighthouse Cinema in Pauatahanui. nice couches. great for seeing movies with a girlfriend…i guess. wouldn’t know :oP

went into Wgtn and picked Mum up, then dropped them off and stayed in Wgtn to meet up with Kate. we hung out at a café for an hour or so. it was fun. i’m wondering if i should go up to Waihi for New Year’s…maybe i will.

Carl, Jon and Si came round tonight. we hung out and chatted and ate too many chocolates. went up round Woodman Drive and checked out the Christmas lights. they were the same as last year pretty much. watched TV when we got back home. they all left and i mucked around online. i may have found a site that can sell me the Gold Edition of Spaceballs on DVD. it’s not available in NZ anymore :o(

also, if you know of anyone or anywhere that’s selling the 2-Disc edition of Snatch on DVD, let me know…i want it.

this is why i buy DVDs when they’re released, unless i know a special edition is coming. they go out of production!

Christmas Day #1

had the first of two Christmas Days today. Ann left tonight to go on holiday, so we had Christmas Day with Ann today. Jen couldn’t be here today, so we’re having Christmas Day with Jen on Tuesday. it’s all very exciting. we had a nice breakfast, then went to Mum & Dad’s church. the kids put on a play, which was rather shambolic…the way all good kid’s plays should be :o)

came home and ate lunch, then opened some presents with Ann. i got $30 :o) started doing a Wasgij later. it seems to be a tradition in our house at Christmas to get a Wasgij.

played WoW all night. my paladin is now level 20. wh00p wh00p! i doubt that i’ll ever get one of my characters to level 70…

short’n'tasty

had another fantastic sleep in this morning. Grandma flew up today. she’s staying with us over Christmas.

i spent most of the day playing WoW and Revolt. i can’t believe that me and Si clocked Revolt all those years ago. the time trials are the hardest part…

went out for dinner with the family to Café Vella in Plimmerton. it was pretty cool. had a fillet mignon. steak wrapped in bacon. it was great :o)

that’s about it.

Micah, the human paladin

had a great sleep in today. got up at 11:00. ahh…the joys of having finished work for the year. the downside is i’m not currently earning money, so things like petrol and new brake pads which cost $$$ are not my friends right now.

had a haircut and mowed the lawns. started a new WoW character - a human paladin. we’ll see how this one turns out. i’m not too fussed with getting any of my characters up to level 70. i just wanted to play around with the game and see some of the different things i could do.

went to Jon’s for a BBQ tonight with some other people. it was pretty cool. played some backyard cricket. ate food and watches Scary Movie 4. sat around chatting and watching movie trailers. there’s some good movies coming out next year. hopefully i’ll have enough money to go and see them all :o)

messaging

last day at EMC today. we finished after lunch…it was kinda weird, ‘cos we went to lunch, then worked for another 30mins or so, then finished for the day…oh well.

went to J’ville mall and bought Tango & Cash on DVD. went and saw Lané working at Santa Magic. she takes photos of kids with Santa. she’s heading over to South Africa for Christmas, so i won’t see her until next year some time…

came home and watched Tango & Cash. haha. it’s something like 18 years old. still a great movie though.

mucked around all night and played on Dad’s new OKTA phone/PDA. it’s pretty styley :o) i don’t know if one would be very useful for me though, considering all i use my phone for is texting. i’m happy with my phone. it has lasted well over the last year. it has brought me messages of joy and messages of sorrow.

i’m still waiting for the message of girlfriend though.

meh…
