metal guys

went into Wgtn today and caught up with Barry. it was pretty cool. on the way home, i bought the RoboCop trilogy on DVD for a mere $20. watched RoboCop when i go home. it’s cool. i haven’t actually seen it before. i think i’ve seen RoboCop 2, but i can’t remember it.

went round to Ann and Dan’s place this evening. tuned their TV for them, then we played a couple of games of Catan. it was a fun night.

this weekend, i’m going to go and see Iron Man. it looks awesome :)

past curfew…

today was a day that i spent mostly at home. watched Charlie’s Angels and Full Throttle on DVD. went out and had a massage later. it was awesome. it’s a late birthday present…i think i’m still owed birthday presents by both of my sisters! it’s all good.

went to WIT tonight. it was cool. went out afterwards for coffee and milkshakes. spent a couple of hours hanging out and chatting with WITsters. it’s nice being able to just stay out and not have to worry about getting up early tomorrow. i shall cherish it while it lasts…

looking forward to my week off…

well, the camp at El Rancho was awesome. i got to catch up with my El Rancho mates again, and got to meet some new leaders who were cool. i had a cabin to myself again this camp :) it was great. i was somewhere in between being a leader and being camp staff… i helped out with the flying fox and went kayaking and had a lot of fun.

and then i got sick. don’t know what hit me, but it was something like a 24hr flu bug. felt sick and had no energy. went to bed and stayed there for about 18hrs. i missed the last nigh of camp, but that’s okay. i heard a lot of it from my bed from which i could not move.

felt better on Saturday morning. better…not best. packed up and after the kids had gone, the leaders said their goodbyes and i cruised home. spent the next couple of days recovering to full strength. what that basically means is that i sat at home watching DVDs and playing computer games.

now that i am fully recovered, i intend to make the most of my week off! what that basically means is that i will sit at home watching DVDs and playing computer games.

which isn’t all i’ll be doing. today i’ve already organised four times for me to leave the house, and i have had and still have to make some very important phone calls. even on my week off i have to do stuff! maybe i’ll go and see some movies. Iron Man comes out this week! it looks awesome!

Team Xtreme Lightning!

well, i’ve spent the past couple of day hanging out in Palmy with the Team X crew and it has been cool.

drove down to Wgtn today for the opening night of Catch 23. my team - Team Xtreme Lightning was playing against two other teams. after an epic battle of fun and laughs, we came third. it was great fun :) thanks so much to everyone who came along to see us play.

tomorrow, i head back up to Palmy for the commissioning of the 2oo8 trainees. from there, i’m heading to El Rancho on Monday for a kids’ camp…

well, i’m off to some funding gathering with Katie for Team X. hopefully it’s the kind of gathering where people throw money at us…

after that, i’m heading up to Palmy, then on Monday, i’m heading to El Rancho for another kid’s camp.

fun days ahead…

Rambo is old

worked on the Team X newsletter for most of the day today. finished it. it looks good. it’s not online yet…and probably won’t be for a couple of weeks…but you don’t really care do you…?

had a meeting with some of the Maidstone teachers this afternoon. went through what we’re going to be doing next term. it should be fun :)

watched Rambo: First Blood when i got home. that movie is are as old as me…hahaha. old school movies are a laugh. i wonder what movies made today will look like in 20 years…i guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

M is for milkshake. R is for Rambo

went out to Sweet Mother’s Kitchen for brunch this morning with the Team Xers to celebrate Rose’s birthday. it was pretty cool. when a couple of us ordered milkshakes, the waiter told us of a great place that we could buy some where they were twice as good and half as expensive…i don’t know why he just didn’t make us nicer milkshakes…

went DVD shopping later and bought the Rambo trilogy. went round to Jo’s new flat later and said hi.

spent the afternoon watching special features from a whole lot of DVDs. i’m going to need a new DVD rack soon. maybe i should splash out and buy a proper shelf or cabinet or something that can hold 300+ DVDs. i’m running out of space with my current setup…

can you solve a rubik’s cube?

went to a seminar that was held at CFUH today. most of the Team Xers went. the speaker was a guy called David Riddell. he wasn’t as great as some people had made him out to be, and by morning tea, i had tuned out. he wasn’t very engaging…after morning tea, i listened more, but he still failed to capture the full attention of most of the Team Xers. i drew some cool pictures though.

we were all kinda glad when it ended. one thing i did learn was how to solve a Rubik’s Cube…Dan taught me. i will practice and hopefully all the moves will stick in my brain and then i’ll be able to impress people…

we went to Troy’s afterwards. the plan was to have a spa, but no one did. we watched Old School, then ate wedges for tea and watched Gabriel. it’s actually a pretty cool movie. hadn’t heard about it until a few weeks ago. it’s got an interesting perspective about angels and Purgatory…

came home and dug out my rubik’s cube to practice on…

awesome :)

it was our last session with Mirimar South today. a lot of kids cried. it was a great day though. got some awesome feedback from the kids and teachers :)

we all hung out at Whetu’s place afterwards and played games and chatted. had a BBQ, then wrapped up the Wellington part of the trainees’ training. it’ll be sad to see Michelle, Dan and Michal leave…but they’re still part of the national Team X whanau :)

overall, it was an awesome day :)
