reasons

i love sleeping in! it's like having a reason to be lazy :)

played Black & White all day, then got to a point where (again) i just couldn't care less about trying to teach my dumb monkey how to perform miracles and how not to eat people, so i gave up. that game is now shelved for at least a year...

went into Wgtn tonight for the final night of Catch 23. Team Xtreme Lightening played, and we came third. again. much like we did on April 19th. but the night was awesome and we had heaps of fun, which is what counts more. as soon as it becomes about the winning, it's like doing volunteer youth work for the money - in it for the wrong reasons...

also, today i noticed that every post so far this week has had a one-word title. not on purpose, and not something that i'll likely continue for a long period of time, but might just do so until the end of the week at least...

void

taught at Adventure school today. it was cool. the kids are an awesome bunch and fun to hang out with.

came home and was bored. there's some kinda void in my life, and nothing seems to fill it right. there are brief fleeting moments when the void is very tiny, but there are other times when it is all-consuming. i wish i knew what shape the void was so that i could better look for whatever i need to fill it.

right now, i am going to go and fill it with sleep and a space of not thinking. over-thinking these things does not bode well for me.

unique

ran the Self Worth programme with our three Thursday classes at Maidstone. i can usually tell how good a day it has been by how tired i am when i get back to the office. i was tired. it was a good day. also, when i got back to the office, my own personal WITH MY OWN NAME ON THEM!!! business cards had arrived. w00t! first time i've had my own personal WITH MY OWN NAME ON THEM!!! business cards.

spent some time working on my cardboard hand, then came home and finished it. i like it :)

Oik

went and saw 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' with Eugene and his mate tonight. the original trilogy was good because it was plausible to a point. the latest installment is unique to say the least. it's kinda like Indiana Jones meets C&C: Yuri's Revenge on the scene of the X-Files movie...but there's just not enough of what made the original movies great.

fundraising

went to Praxis this morning. my cluster groups went alright.

went to KFC for lunch with Lané afterwards, then we went to a café and met up with Jen and chatted for a while.

came home and made up a page for the CFUH notices advertising the Team Xtreme movie fundraiser. we're having a showing of Prince Caspian in a few weeks.if you want to come along, it'll be $20 for the ticket and nibbles and to support Team X. 8.00pm at the Ascot Cinema in Upper Hutt on June 25th. let me know :)

experience

went to Team X today. we spent the morning looking at what makes us unique and making cardboard hands for a mobile. the stuff we get up to, eh? when mine's finished, i'll take photos of it and post them here. i think mine's quite styley :)

worked on programme stuff with the team and finished adding names to small group photos. they should be finished and on our wall in the next couple of days.

after lunch, we took the banner that was painted for us on Saturday to Expressions, where it'll be on display for a while before Team X gets to claim it as our own. it was really cool watching the crew spray paint it on Saturday. it's quite an involved process, but looking at the final result, it was worth it. our banner looks like this:

some awesome grafitti art...

we spent the afternoon playing games with the team. came home and didn't do a lot. i s'pose i could've done my Praxis readings, 'cos otherwise i'll be reading them on the trian into Wgtn like i did every Wednesday last year...and i should look at my assignments too...

but i didn't. watched Sahara on DVD. it's pretty cool. i wouldn't mind if they made another Dirk Pitt movie. never read the novels, but the action was good, and that's what counts.

i might go and look at one of my Praxis readings before heading to bed...

things seem to be falling apart

hokay, so i'm back from Chch. i got back on Monday night and went to Team X on Tuesday, thinking that it would be all sweet and just the way that i left it...

...man, was i ever wrong! the nice neat whiteboard with this week's plan written on it had been re-written and i found out that one team member is away sick and that Thursday's have been completely re-staffed and that there might only be two people going into class and that i have to run parts of the programme that i had not been running before with no time to practice! also, we would be working with two classes in our last slot, because Maidstone is having the Year 7 Cross Country on Thursday!

went to school and didn't let it faze me. had a blast meeting four new classes of kids. caught up with most of the classes that are now full of Year 8's who were very pleased to see Team X back in their school.

came back to the office and did minimal work before heading home to bed.

woke up today.

had a meeting with Leanne regarding the YDTW website. it's all in their hands now and out of mine. or at least that's what i thought until i got home and found an e-mail asking me to fix it because after updating it, it had broken.

haha...if i'm not around things, they tend to turn to custard :P

this afternoon, i hung out at the Team X office filling out an application for some upcoming TV show that we're trying to apply for. i got home, only to find that i had left my USB drive back at the office, but tomorrow, i'm heading to the Aspiring Leader's Forum, so i can't finish or send the application. dumb!

i should probably go and pack at some stage. i need flash clothes 'cos we're going to Parliament. i have black pants, black shoes and i'll wear a shirt. i may have to take a photo to prove to you all that i can put on more than just cargo pants and a t-shirt...

i'm also going to watch Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to see what it's like...

carry over champs

had Team X again today. this morning we got into a big discussion about what should happen if team members put each other down. after about 30mins, we finally sorted something out...

i finished writing up a draft copy of the first issue of our prayer sheet, which we're thinking about putting in the church bulletin. i'm proud of it :)

went to WIT tonight. found out that Team Xtreme Lightening is playing on Saturday, when i'm going to be in Christchurch :( so i cannot join them. if they win, they carry over to next week, when i will be at the Aspiring Leaders Forum :( so i can't play. but if they win again then, then they carry over to the next weekend, when i should be free! yay...go team!
