finally started!

had my Praxis cluster groups in Wgtn this morning. they went alright. came home and watched Terminator 3 on DVD. then, i finally got around to starting one of my assignments! after about 2hrs, i had written 600 words or so. and that’s just for the first question! three questions to go for this assignment.

the other assignments should be easy enough to write up. they’ll take time while i compile my notes and thoughts, but the questions are pretty straightforward.

played Deus Ex all night.

a whole lot more i should be doing

went to church this morning. it was a baptism service. Katie and Troy from Team X, were amongst those who were baptised. it was cool. the Palmy team came down for it and there was a big shared lunch afterwards where i got to hang out and chat with a bunch of people :)

came home and spent all afternoon mucking round on my computer. started to clean my room, but stopped after picking up about two things off my floor. i’ll get there eventually…

watchd TV al night. NCIS is back on :) yay! i’m glad it’s on a night that i can be home and watch it.

it’s incredible!

had a cruisy day at home today. played Deus Ex and ate chocolate for most of it. any plans that i had to clean my room went out the window.

me and Si went and saw ‘The Incredible Hulk’ tonight. it was cool. better than the first Hulk movie. even though this one plays as a sequel, it has a whole new cast and a whole new direction. i think the only recurring character was a cameo by the guy who played the Hulk in the TV series. he was in both movies. and Tony Stark from Iron Man appears, as does the mention of Nick Fury and SHIELD. it’s all coming together. it’s all part of the plan! eventually they’ll have an Avengers movie.

came home and played old school mulitplayer games for a while. there’s nothing quite like cheating and having fun while running around and blowing stuff up :)

One Eighty

ran our Choices programme at Adventure today. it was cool. i have finally finished performing the WWHR drama and now i can rest. next week is Peer Pressure, which is more emotionally draining than physically, so i will be tired again!

had a meeting with Bruce Billington when i got back to the office. talked to him and got some info for one of my Praxis assignments. sweet deal. now all i have to do is assess Team X as a faith community, define some words and then compare Team X, CFUH and El Rancho and i will have finished an assignment! it seems like a lot of work, so i might not do it this weekend.

came home and went to bed. i should get more sleep at night, so that i don’t have to sleep in the afternoon. got out of bed to go to One Eighty. it’s a youth night that is organised by King’s Church where my parents and a lot of Adventure students go, so they were all inviting me today. it was pretty cool. just a lot of running around and playing games. but i got to hang out with a dozen or so Adventure kids, which was fun. it’s cool hanging out with the kids we work with outside of the Team X context.

now i will go to bed for real.

photos are up

Team X today was cool. i’ve now done six of the eight WWHR dramas that i am doing this week. me and Troy did them today. they were fun. we’re doing them tomorrow as well. it has been interesting talking about choices to the kids this week, because there’s a few choices in my life that i should probably be making, but i’m not. they’re all to do with study, flatting and girls. not necessarily in that order. not really in any order. more just in a mess of chaos.

finally got around to putting up our Team X team photos on the website. yay!

people all day…

went into Praxis this morning. it was alright. one of our group discussions was assessed, and we all passed, so i’ve only got four assessments to go now. bonus :)

met up with Barry for lunch afterwards and we chatted for an hour or so. it was cool.

met up with Jo after that and we hung out and caught up for a couple of hours. hot chocolates from Scopa taste like warm liquid chocolate pudding. mmm…

came home and was tired. played Deus Ex for a while. i really like that game. even though i’ve played it so many times and know exactly how i’m going to play it, it’s still fun.

my paretns’ home group was at our house tonight, so i sat in on that for a while and had a great time. the other people who came along were pretty cool, including a Dutch couple who are fantastically hilarious :)

worn out

Team X today was pretty cool. we tried out our renewed Line of Choice programme, and i think it worked well. me and Tamsen did the What Would’ve Happened Room drama and it was great fun :)

the thing about doing the WWHR drama in three classes is that it wears me out and i get very tired, so i came home and went to bed.

didn’t go to WIT tonight. i love WIT, but it’s such an effort and i feel like i need to take a break from it. i’ll see what happens.

so because i was tired and went to bed, i didn’t end up checking out any flats. i’ll do it on my own time and let you know after the fact so that there’s no pressure on me :) hahaha…that sounds really slack and i don’t care!

late

yesterday was pretty cruisy. went to church and did a notice trying to entice people to come to the Team X Movie Fundraiser. i think we’ve sold a third of our tickets now, which is cool :)

played Civ III for most of the afternoon and most of the evening. took a break to watch CSI, which had a dumb ending. then played Civ III until far too late and went to bed feeling tired and unable to sleep.

woke up feeling okay though…i’ll try and have an earlier night tonight…

had a pretty standard Team X morning. Katie ran her devo, i did some assessments and then i tried to get the crew to practice. the Palmy team came down this afternoon to visit us, which was cool. it was great seeing the trainees again, but we didn’t get enough time to catch up, and with 18 of us, there wasn’t a lot of room for one-on-one conversations.

after the Palmy team left, we ran through our programme for this week and some people practiced. i really don’t think that people have practiced enough…even me. hopefully we won’t run a crap programme tomorrow…

this evening, i finally got around to watching the special features on some of my DVDs that have been sitting on my desk for ages. i’ve still got about five DVDs worth of special features to watch.

also, i looked at some flats on TradeMe that need some flatmates. maybe i’ll give some of them a call tomorrow and check them out…maybe…

onto it

played Civ III today. i was having fun, but then fighting my enemies became too much of a chore, so i gave up.

uploaded some Team X team pics to Facebook. i need to put them on the Team X website at some stage. hopefully by Tuesday.

drove up to El Rancho this afternoon. joined the Midgets (6-8 year olds) camp for the evening. it was pretty cool. got to watch some clowns and listen to a bedtime story. the main reason i went up was so that i could talk to Bex about what it’s like living in the El Rancho community and ask her some questions for one of my Praxis assignments. we eventually got time to sit down and chat once all the kids were in bed. then i drove home.

i’ve almost done all the extra work i need to do for my Praxis assignments. once i’ve talked to one more person, the rest is up to me and my epic writing skills…i’m actually quite pleased that i haven’t left talking with people to the last minute. i’m feeling pretty onto it right now :)

how to end a week

taught at Adventure School today. it was cool. hopefully the positive feedback that we’re getting from the school spreads to other schools in the Porirua area and we can get into more schools that way…

i went into Wgtn afterwards and met up with Tamsen. we ran through the WWHR drama which we’re doing in class next week. it should be pretty fun. watched Aeon Flux and ate Mint Slices afterwards. what a great way to end a week :)

came home and watched TV all night and now i am very tired, so i shall go to bed and sleep a lot.
